Beech Hill
Shinfield Community Church leads outreach and church activities in Beech Hill. There has long been a partnership between the church in Shinfield and Beech Hill. While we no longer manage or operate the Beech Hill Chapel, building, a small team from Shinfield Community Church organises regular village activities that have been well supported and appreciated.
Coffee Morning
Each Wednesday from 10.30-12 noon there is a Coffee Morning in the Memorial Hall. There are delicious home made cakes, coffee, tea, squash or juice for children as well as toys and colouring activities available. Everything is free and you are welcome to just turn up.
Sunday Service
On the firstSunday of each month, we hold a simple service from 4.30pm-5.30pm in Beech Hill Memorial Hall (Wood Ln, Beech Hill, Reading RG7 2BE) . This is a joint venture with St. Mary's Church Beech Hill.
School Support
We have been working closely with Grazeley Primary School. having been asked to lead a number of assemblies. These have been on topics like peace, teamwork, rules and faithfulness. We have also led a prayer week at the school and children from Year 3 and their teachers regularly help at the Coffee Morning on Wednesdays
Online Alpha
Beech Hill Chapel has run two online 'Alpha Courses.' The Alpha Course is an introduction to Christianity using small group discussion and short videos.
Local Support
We are very appreciative of the support that has been given by the local Anglican Church (St. Mary the Virgin) Beech Hill Parish Council and local people to all our activities in Beech Hill. We are also very grateful to local Baptist Churches, the Southern Counties Baptist Association who gave encouragement and support for Shinfield Community Chuch's activities in Beech Hill.
